Testimonials

"It was exciting to see so many children with their dreams and hopes in front of them. At the same time it was humbling to realize how much love, dedication and resources they'll need, from those of us who care, to help them achieve their dreams."

- Timothy J. Muth, P.D., BCNP

"I went to Haiti in October 2005 for the grand opening of CECM not knowing that I was going to experience poverty at the lowest level. In 2006, I made two more trips to Haiti. The first was with my son. In November, I went with Randy Burns, his wife Nancy and my sisters Solanges Vivens and Paulette Dubois. This time the children received not only some school supplies but also the uniform for the academic year and for the soccer team courtesy of the Burns family. The students expressed their joy and how grateful they were to have the support and the caring of people coming from afar. I returned in February 2008. I can tell that the students are happier, healthier, and most of all, they are learning. It was the Mardi Gras season and I helped with the construction of costumes and of course the videotaping of the CECM annual carnival parade in the street, and the carnival party at the school yard. CECM, which started with a few classrooms, is presently a three-story building serving the Meyer community giving primary and secondary education to many children that were previously wandering the streets of Jacmel. Haiti is the poorest county in this hemisphere and they need all things there. Any contribution you can make will be put to good use and very appreciated by the children there."

"I am Nancy Burns. I have been a nurse for almost 30 years. I traveled to Haiti in 2006 and met the children that attend CECM. They stole my heart. When you look into the eyes of a hungry child, it is really hard to ignore the situation. These children are so appreciative of every little thing you do for them. I used to think there really wasn't any thing I could do to make a change in a situation like the extreme poverty in Haiti. I was wrong about that - you can make a big difference one child at a time."

- Nancy Burns, Vice President of Client Services, Remedi SeniorCare

"My wife and I traveled to Haiti in 2006 and made a commitment at that time to help these children out. A second trip was made in September 2007 for the purpose of photographing the children at the school. Tim Muth accompanied me; he took the pictures you will see on the web-site. I am shipping to Haiti, on a regular basis, snacks for the school children, clothing, school supplies, and other items that are needed there. I have supplied school uniforms for the students and soccer uniforms for the school team. These children need everything (and Haiti needs everything). Anything you can do to help will be appreciated."

- Robert R. Burns

"For many years I have been a supporter and fan of the School. It is a labor of love. I hope that as you learn more about the school you become a supporter of such great endeavors. Any support will be always directed to the school."
